The St. Louis Cardinals selected Decatur High School third baseman Jordan Walker with the 21st overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft on Wednesday. A Duke recruit, Walker was considered one of the top corner infield prospects in this year's class, aside from Spencer Torkelson. He generates easy bat speed and creates great leverage at the plate with his 6-foot-5 frame, giving him excellent future power potential. His weaknesses include a long swing and an inconsistent ability to recognize breaking pitches. For his size, the 18-year-old is pretty athletic, and he should be able to stick at the hot corner on defense at the next level. Walker has been clocked in the low-90s on the mound, so he has plenty of arm strength and could play in right field if needed.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
