Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Elvis Merzlikins recorded his third NHL victory on Monday as his team extracted a 4-2 win from the Los Angeles Kings. The rookie netminder was steady throughout the contest, turning aside 35 of 37 shots against (including 16 shots in the first period alone) to grab his third win in his past four starts. Assuming the starting role after the Jackets lost goaltender Joonas Korpisalo to injury, Merzlikins has stepped in and allowed just seven goals (to go along with a .945 save percentage) in four games since. With Korpisalo out another three-to-five weeks, the 25-year-old has a great opportunity to establish himself as a legitimate NHL goaltender. For fantasy owners in need of a fill-in backstopper, he remains available in 70% of Yahoo! leagues.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
