Kirk Cousins Apologizes To Adam Thielen

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins apologized to wide receiver Adam Thielen for missing opportunities with him in the Week 4 loss to the Bears. Thielen was critical of the offense after the loss and said, "You have to be able to throw the ball." "I really want to apologize to [Thielen] because there's too many opportunities where we could have hit him on Sunday," Cousins said. The QB missed Thielen on a potential deep touchdown early in the game, and Thielen didn't see another target until late in the fourth quarter. Thielen had only two catches for six yards on six targets in the game. He's averaging only 3.3 catches and 5.5 targets per game, which pales in comparison to his per-game averages of 7.1 catches and 9.6 targets in 2018. Until Minnesota starts to throw the ball more in this run-first offense, both Thielen and Diggs will be low-upside WR2s. The good news is they'll both have a great matchup with the Giants in Week 5. Cousins should give Thielen the greasy wheel treatment, giving him low-end WR1 upside. Don't give up on him just yet.
