Tyrod Taylor Shines For Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor looked fantastic in the first preseason game of the year against the Cardinals on Thursday. Taylor went 6-for-6 for 72 yards through the air and racked up a pair of runs for 34 more yards. He wasn't sacked a single time, and while he didn't score any touchdowns, he also didn't throw any picks. Taylor is battling with Cardale Jones for the backup gig, but the former Buffalo starter looks like the clear favorite so far. Taylor has long been known for his high accuracy and low rate of turnovers, but he's also renowned for constantly checking the ball down. The 30-year-old is likely one of the better backups in the league, and with all the Chargers' weapons, they would probably still be a very good team if they were forced to lean on him.
