Welcome to the Sunday, July 28th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on July 28th. Enjoy them. Daily Musings

• Many people are full tilt in Fantasy Football. This is an opportunity to move up in the standings. I don’t care if you’re in 8th place; get to 5th, 4th, 3rd. It represents your determination to finish what you started.
• Andrew Benintendi is on FIRE! He’s got nine bombs in….the last 374AB. Yep, that’s the whole season. Thank you, Semantic Sam.
• Ryan Borucki not ready yet. 2IP, 6ER, 3K. BAL next.
• J.D. Martinez makes it 22, w/3HR, .387AVG in last week.
• Remember when Nate Lowe was the AL Player of the Week? Yeah, he played three games last week. .263 vs southpaws isn’t too terrible.
• Giovanny Urshela w/great game. 4-for-4 w/11th Monster Jam. Only 16% owned. 41%Chase. Well, if the ball won’t come to you,……
• Long ago, in a land not different than this one, there was a thought that catcher was the worst position on the planet. A putrid wasteland. Things have changed.
• Will Smith (LAD) is back & swinging a big bat. Fourth tater, six RBI. Majority of playing time in Dodgers offense. Very attractive.
• Travis D'Arnaud lifts one over the wall. 12th HR, .245AVG. Of course he is doing well; he’s a former Met.
• Omar Narvaez keeping AVG strong (.298)
• I wonder, maybe I should have selected Clayton Kershaw instead of Carlos Carrasco. Kershaw at 9-3 w/6IP, 2ER, 9K night.
• Marco Gonzales gets 12W. Shocking. 4.21ERA(3.95FIP)
• Them Nola boys still thriving.  Austin Nola w/11R, 3HR, .328AVG in 61AB. Oooh Weee! Hot start. Aaron Nola gets ATL Sunday night. Boot Pride!
• Nick Ahmed gets HUNGRY! Grand Slam sure satisfies. 2HR, 14RBI, .327AVG last 15days.
• Alex Young is 4-0. Undefeated. Nationals will be another tough opponent. "Ahem!” Yes? “The Marlins aren’t tough.” Semantic Sam, you all over the place. You need to be Silent Sam.
• Ender Inciarte mashing(3rd HR), Adam Duvall smashing(1), & Austin Riley is seeking respite. We told you Riley had plate discipline issues. 42%Chase, 63%Contact, 21%SwingStrike rates?! Wow. The power is delicious though. 50% owned too.
• Teoscar Hernandez’ w/two-HR game. So inviting and exciting. .214AVG. Maybe he’s warming up for 4-games in Camden? Somewhat intriguing.
• Ronald Acuna busts through doors of 25/20 club (25HR/23SB). 35/35 club better bring a bigger bouncer.
•  Keston Hiura w/11HR, 7SB. 333AVG in 156AB. 68% owned? Why so low?
• Sergio Romo adds to the shenanigans that is the Twins backend. Nick Anderson the man in Miami?
• Anthony DeSclafani cruises again. 5IP, 1ER, 5K. 3BB, 4.01ERA(4.41FIP) don’t attract the eye. ATL next. Eesh.
• Check your meter! This wire is LIVE! Josh VanMeter w/fourth homer in last week.
• Eugenio Suarez qualms have vanished. 432ft Toaster Strudel. What?!?! Don’t look at me. I like Toaster Strudels. They’re hot & have red inside.
• Steven Matz w/complete-game shutout. Seven K. Now get out there & SELL! SELL! SELL!
• Career-year reaches 20HR w/.302AVG for Yoan Moncada. This is great for baseball.
• Second game back, Carlos Correa hits 12th HR. The gang is back together. The Astros offense is ridiculous. Why make room for Kyle Tucker?
• Paul Goldschmidt carries that six-pack like it was big-mouth Mickeys. Flaunts it. Six straight games w/HR.
• ‘Jose Ramirez Whinin’ & Cryin’ Room.’ Where did everyone go? 13HR & 22SB has a way of shutting people up.
• Cal Quantrill needs no follower for the Giants. 5.1IP, 1ER, 4K. 4BB not pleasant.
• A lot of sexiness in Oakland. Marcus Semien(16), Mark Canh(17), Matt Chapman(23) & studly Ramon Laureano w/21st bomb that started a little ruckus.
• Pedro Severino w/combo meal(10th HR/second SB).
• Mike Trout(34) squeezes between Cody Bellinger & Peter Alonso, thanks them for keeping his seat warm and looks toward Christian Yelich.
• Have a great Sunday. Get out this morning. Do something new today.
