The San Francisco Giants placed third baseman Evan Longoria (foot) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with plantar fasciitis in his left foot and recalled reliever Ray Black from the minors in a corresponding move. An MRI exam showed a strain, so the veteran will be out more than 10 days. Longoria has six homers in his last nine games but has been a disappointment overall. We wouldn't blame you if you dropped him in deeper mixed leagues if you have other needs. Pablo Sandoval should see most of the starts at the hot corner and is a solid NL-only commodity. Donovan Solano and Austin Slater could be other options at third base with Longoria out.--Keith Hernandez
