The Toronto Maple Leafs traded center Nazem Kadri, defenseman Calle Rosen and a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft to the Colorado Avalanche on Monday in exchange for defenseman Tyson Barrie, center Alexander Kerfoot and a sixth-round pick in 2020. The Avs will also eat 50 percent of Barries's salary, which comes out to $5.5 million average annual value. Kadri was bumped down the depth chart by the acquisition of John Tavares last offseason, and he didn't endear himself to the team when he had a cross-check to the head in a game in Boston, resulting in his suspension for the remainder of the first-round of the playoffs. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him some good.--Daniel Dobish
