Daniel Norris Leaves With Groin Cramping

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Daniel Norris (groin) left his start early on Friday against the Nationals after five innings due to groin cramping. Norris had collided with Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton at third base in the first inning. The left-hander had given up five hits (one homer) and two earned runs while walking one and striking out three in his five innings. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but his next start is certainly in question. Norris is 2-7 with a 4.62 ERA, 7.25 K/9 and 2.10 BB/9 in his 85 2/3 innings on the season. There's not a ton of upside here on a really bad team and with a mediocre strikeout rate in his career.
