The Buffalo Sabres picked center Dylan Cozens (Lethbridge, WHL) with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft on Friday, and then they grabbed defenseman Ryan Johnson with the No. 31 overall pick in the first round. Johnson is committed to the University of Minnesota. Cozens and Johnson give the Sabres a couple of nice prospects on a franchise trending upward. The big pick was Cozens, who is an elite skater with a heavy shot. He registered 34 goals and 84 points in just 68 games for Lethbridge last season. Cozens might not be an impact player in the NHL immediately, but he has nice long-term upside.--Daniel DobishRead More News
