Jhoulys Chacin To Start For Brewers Monday
Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell announced that pitcher Jhoulys Chacin will return to the Brewers rotation on Monday when they travel to take on the Padres. The right-hander landed on the IL on June 1 with a back injury after tweaking it during an at-bat and is ready to return without a rehab assignment. Freddy Peralta was initially slated for this start, but Counsell failed to mention if he would get relegated to the bullpen upon Chacin's return. The veteran is having a subpar 2019 as he's 3-7 on the season with a 5.74 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 12 starts for the Brew Crew. He's never been much of a strikeout pitcher, and this season he's having his worst campaign in this regard with a 17.1% K%. Chacin can be left alone on waiver wires unless he starts showing signs from his superb 2018 season.
