Matt Barnes Earns Save Despite Earned Run

Boston Red Sox reliever Matt Barnes allowed one run in his fourth save on Thursday over the Royals. He allowed a single to Alex Gordon and then an RBI double to Jorge Soler, but proceeded to strike out the next two batters to end the game. Barnes remains the go-to guy for the Red Sox in the highest leverage situations, which hasn't led to many saves. His upside is the 44 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings but his ERA has taken a hit lately, dropping to a 3.28 on the season. He's still the arm to own in Boston until someone else steps up.
