New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz notched his 13th save of the season on Sunday, preserving a 4-3 lead in a win over the Detroit Tigers. Diaz allowed a hit and a walk but struck out the side to escape a jam. The 25-year-old is 13-for-14 in save opportunities this season with a 1.71 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. He is tied for third in the big leagues in saves and his strikeout stuff affords him some wiggle room in allowing the occasional baserunners. Keep trusting Diaz, who has a firm hold on the Mets closer job.--Adam
