The New York Mets claimed outfielder Aaron Altherr off waivers from the Giants on Thursday. Altherr has just one hit in 30 at-bats with the Phillies and Giants this year. He had just one at-bat for the Giants. The Mets really could use the outfield help with both Michael Conforto (concussion) and Brandon Nimmo (neck) on the injured list. New York is mixing and matching with Rajai Davis, J.D. Davis, Carlos Gomez and Juan Lagares right now, but Altherr could get some playing time in the short term. He's still not attractive to fantasy owners, even in the deepest of leagues.--Keith Hernandez
