Steven Matz Takes Loss On Quiet Night
Steven Matz's fate came down to two mistakes Friday night in Milwaukee. Taking on the Brewers, the New York native allowed a solo home run in the first and a two-run jack in the fifth. Aside from the nine hits and three earned runs, Matz allowed a walk while striking out three and managing a hit at the plate. The 27-year-old has been steadily progressing since a putrid performance two weeks ago that saw him surrender eight runs without recording an out. His ERA now stands at 3.86 while his record is 3-2.
