New Jersey Devils right wing Kyle Palmieri (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury in the first period of Tuesday's 4-1 loss against the Washington Capitals and he was unable to return. Palmieri checked out after 1:18 of ice time and two shifts after being crushed by Nick Jensen. He left the bench with the assistant athletic trainer for the locker room and he never was able to return. For now, consider Palmieri day to day. The leading scorer for the Devils is a stud when he is healthy, especially in pools which do not use the plus/minus rating.--Daniel Dobish
