Buffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel (undisclosed) suffered an undisclosed injury in the first period of Monday's home loss against the New York Islanders and he was unable to return. Eichel was held out of Sunday's optional team skate, supposedly being given a day off to rest any bumps and bruises. However, he entered the day as a game-time decision, according to head coach Phil Housley, so Eichel is dealing with something. He managed just four shifts before calling it a night against the Isles. The good news is that he'll have three full days to rest before the Sabres host the Panthers on Thursday night.--Daniel Dobish
