Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Curtis McElhinney allowed two goals on 29 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime setback against the Anaheim Ducks. He was tagged for the even-strength game-tying goal by Pontus Aberg with 3:50 left in regulation and then Ryan Getzlaf got him for the game-winning tally just 1:15 into overtime. It was an unfortunate finish after a very promising outing, but the offense was only able to connect for one goal on 34 shots. He has played well enough to work his way into a regular role, making Scott Darling expendable. The Hurricanes hit the road for Los Angeles on Sunday night.--Daniel Dobish
