White Sox Acquire Former Top Prospect Manny Banuelos
The Chicago White Sox acquired starting pitcher Manny Banuelos from the Dodgers on Thursday in exchange for minor league infielder Justin Yurchak. The left-handed Banuelos was once a top prospect of the Yankees, but he has thrown only 26 1/3 innings in the majors and not since 2015 with the Braves. He went 9-7 with a 3.73 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and impressive 10.5 K/9 over 31 outings (18 starts) for Triple-A Oklahoma City last year, so he might have something left. He's not a bad flier for a rebuilding White Sox club. Yurchak mostly plays first base and hit .256/.348/.326 with one home run and 36 RBI in 95 games for Single-A Kannapolis this year.
