Carolina Hurricanes rookie forward Andrei Svechnikov scored his first career goal on Sunday against the New York Rangers. The eventual game-winning goal came in the third period and was Svechnikov's second point of the night. He also assisted on Lucas Wallmark's goal earlier in the third period. Svechnikov led all Carolina players in power-play time with 3:57 minutes of ice time although his even strength minutes were limited. This kind of sheltered usage is likely what we can expect for him this season, but there should still be plenty of nights where his talent shines through.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBallerRead More News
