San Francisco Giants first baseman Ryder Jones (knee), who will have surgery to fix his patella on Wednesday, will also have a cleanup procedure to fix tendinitis in the same knee. He expects to hit off a tee and take ground balls by Christmas after his knee was bugging him all season. Jones was going to get extended playing time down the stretch to close out the year, so his injury was bad timing. Expect Jones to compete for a roster spot next spring.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
