Theo Riddick's Role Is Safe
Detroit Lions running back Theo Riddick impressed in Tuesday’s joint practice with the New York Giants. Riddick displayed solid pass protection and continued to dominate in one-on-one passing drills against linebackers. During a passing drill, Riddick blew up a pass rusher from the Giants, protecting quarterback Jake Rudock. While he is regarded as one of the best pass-catching backs in the league, his role as the crafty veteran with a high level of offensive awareness will keep him on the field more often than not. His mid- to late-round price tag in PPR leagues shouldn’t be seen as a stretch despite the crowded backfield in Detroit. Riddick has a low ceiling but is typically a steady source of points in the event of injuries or bye weeks.
