Steven Matz On Track To Return Thursday
Steven Matz (arm) threw three innings (56 pitches) in a simulated game on Saturday and is on track to return from the disabled list and start one of the games of a doubleheader on Thursday. That means he'd be returning to face the first-place Phillies. It wouldn't be a great spot to throw Matz back into the fire, especially since he didn't even make it out of the first inning in his last start against the Nationals before landing on the DL. Overall, Matz is 5-9 with a 4.35 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 in 21 starts.
