Howie Kendrick Out For Season With Ruptured Achilles Heel

Washington Nationals outfielder Howie Kendrick ruptured his Achilles heel tendon during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Dodgers and will undergo surgery to repair it. The veteran hurt himself on a routine catch in the eighth inning and wont play again this season. Top prospect Juan Soto will be called up to take his place. Kendrick was sporting an .805 OPS with four home runs and 12 RBI. His multi-positional versatility was his true value for the Nationals. Because of his age and lack of starting role, he's droppable in all formats.
