With starting pitchers Jaime Garcia and Marcus Stroman both on the disabled list with shoulder issues, the Toronto Blue Jays need some replacements for their starting rotation. On Saturday against the Oakland Athletics, that replacement will be Sam Gaviglio. Although Gaviglio has had some success this season, we wouldn’t recommend him for fantasy purposes. Across 29 innings pitched for Triple-A Buffalo, Gaviglio has a 1.86 ERA – but it comes with a ridiculously unsustainable 98% left-on-base rate. He also owns a 2.08 ERA in the Major Leagues this season, but with only 4 1/3 innings pitched. There’s definitely some talent here, but now would not be the time to take a chance on it for fantasy purposes.--John Smith
