Houston Astros starter Justin Verlander will pitch on regular rest when the team opens up a series with the Rangers, per MLB.com. With the off day on Thursday, manager A.J. Hinch has decided to push Charlie Morton back a day and will pitch on Saturday so Verlander can stay in a groove. Verlander has been as dominant a force as any pitcher in the game this season, sporting a 4-1 record with an ERA of 1.17 and a microscopic WHIP of 0.71. He has 70 strikeouts through 53 2/3 innings this season and has only allowed 27 hits. It is unlikely Verlander can keep this pace up all season long but the veteran pitcher and teammate Gerrit Cole have formed the most fearsome 1-2 pitching punch in baseball right now.--Joey C - RotoBaller
