Baltimore Orioles third baseman Tim Beckham was placed on the disabled list Wednesday with a groin injury. The injury appears to be much more serious than originally expected and could keep Beckham out for two months, with a DL stint into July being a possibility. Beckham will undergo core surgery. The Orioles third baseman was hitting .179 with one home run, four RBI and 28 strikeouts. He should be dropped in shallower leagues. Jace Peterson and Danny Valencia will occupy the hot corner during Beckham's absence. Neither should be picked up at this time unless you're in a deep AL-only format.--Dan Fappiano
