Shohei Ohtani Strikes out Six in Debut
Shohei Ohtani had an impressive debut, tossing six innings and giving up three runs on three hits against the A's. He struck out six and walked one. Outside of a hanging slider that Matt Chapman crushed for a three-run home run, Ohtani looked nearly unhittable. His 18 swinging strikes were the most in a debut since Alex Colome. Ohtani regularly hit 100 mph with his fastball and looked every bit the sensation the Angels hoped for. He won't be lights out every single start, but this was a great start for those who drafted Ohtani.
