Cowboys Decline Chance to Commit to Dez Bryant

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett explicitly missed a chance to commit to wide receiver Dez Bryant for next season. "We have a tremendous amount of love for Dez as an organization," Garrett said. "Obviously there are a lot of decisions we have to make with our team. We have some guys at different kinds of contracts that you have to discuss every year." Earlier in the offseason, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones also refused to commit to Bryant in a Cowboys uniform in 2018, adding that Bryant was a "distraction" on the sidelines at times. If Dez is cut after June 1, Dallas can save $12.5 million against the salary cap. Nothing is certain just yet, but it's looking more and more like the former elite wideout may be on a different team in 2018.
