Kyle Larson Earns Hard-Fought Finish of Third at Phoenix
Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports finished third in Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Starting from second, Larson struggled in the first stage as his car lost grip over time and eventually ended the stage in 13th, scoring no stage points. During the second stage, Larson's struggles continued as he was penalized for being too fast on pit road during a caution, and he restarted at the back of the pack. Despite this setback, Larson was able to recover and navigate through the pack to finish in ninth at the end of stage two, earning two stage points. In the final stage, Larson ran in the top 10 through most of the stage and kept his car clean, but in the final few restarts, made his way to the top five. In the final restart, Larson fought for second with Christopher Bell and Ty Gibbs, but ended up finishing in third place. This finish marked Larson's fourth top-5 finish in a row at Phoenix as well as his first of the 2026 season. Larson is now 10th in the regular season standings after four races.
