Sal Frelick 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Solid OF Option with Stolen Base Upside Available Late
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick is coming off a breakout 2025 season where he recorded a .288-12-63-76-19 stat line with a .332 wOBA and 114 wRC+ in 142 games. The former first-rounder is capable of putting up similar numbers in 2026, as he boasts an 89.8 percent contact rate and a 96th-percentile Whiff%, so managers should expect him to put the bat on the ball consistently. Reaching double-digit home runs again could be a challenge with just a 3.0 percent barrel rate, however, the trade-off is that an 87th-percentile sprint speed could help him eclipse 20 steals. A knee injury from May that lingered throughout the season, and a hamstring injury that sent him to the injured list in August appeared to sap some of that speed, as the Boston College product swiped 17 bases in the first half (92 games, .04 SB/PA) compared to just two steals in the second half (49 G, .01 SB/PA). An offseason to get healthy should get him back on track in that regard, and there should be no fear of a platoon limiting his playing time, with Frelick hitting .301 against LHP last season (.282 vs. RHP). The upside here makes the 25-year-old a slight value in drafts, with a current NFBC ADP of 196 but a RotoBaller ranking of 187.
