Kendal Briles a Candidate for South Carolina Offensive Coordinator Job
According to On3.com, TCU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles could be the top candidate for South Carolina's vacant offensive coordinator job. The Gamecocks' offense mightily disappointed under Mike Shula following the departure of Dowell Loggains in 2025. Among 16 SEC teams, South Carolina ranked 15th in total yards per game (336.3) and rushing yards per game (111.1), and 14th in points per game (22.7), despite having preseason Heisman-hopeful LaNorris Sellers under center. Briles, the 43-year-old son of Art Briles, has been an offensive coordinator since 2015, including stops at Baylor, Florida Atlantic, Houston, Florida State, Arkansas, and TCU. The Horned Frogs ranked fourth in the Big 12 in total offense (425.3 YPG) and seventh in points per game (30.8). It remains to be seen if Sellers will stay in Columbia, but Briles would be a significant upgrade for South Carolina if it lands their desired candidate.
