Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 14:

Darren Waller, TE, Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins veteran tight end Darren Waller made his return in Week 13, hauling in two of three targets for 47 yards in the 21-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Waller came back in Week 13, after suffering a pectoral injury in Week 7 that forced him to the injured reserve.

The former Raiders' star was limited to just 47% of the snaps in his return, while backups Julian Hill played 58%, and Greg Dulcich played 37%. Waller faces a New York Jets defense in Week 14, which has allowed the third-most touchdowns to tight ends this season, with seven scores against them.

Waller should see an expanded workload in Week 14, and is a low-end TE1 that could be relied on with injuries and bye weeks affecting other tight ends across the league.

Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. led the team in receiving in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Jets, securing seven of his eight targets for 82 yards, all of which were team highs. The 25-year-old has been Kirk Cousins' favorite receiving option this season, averaging around seven targets in each of the three contests Cousins has been under center.

Sunday's yardage total was Pitts' highest output of the season, and he'll have a chance to keep the momentum going in Week 14 against a Seattle defense that is one of the most generous in the league in terms of allowing fantasy points to opposing tight ends.

If Drake London (knee) were to miss a third straight week, that would be a boon to the 6-foot-6 tight end's chances for another productive fantasy day, so make sure to keep an eye on the injury reports. Expect Pitts to be a lower-end TE1 with upside if London is out against the Seahawks.

AJ Barner, TE, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks tight end AJ Barner (knee, shoulder) was a full participant in practice on Thursday. This was an improvement after he was limited the day before. Barring any sort of setback, Barner should remain a full participant in Friday's practice, which would put him on track to play in Sunday's Week 14 contest against the Atlanta Falcons.

The 23-year-old is the overall TE18 in PPR leagues this year, but his fantasy value could slip a little against a Falcons defense that has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2025.

T.J. Hockenson, TE, Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson led the team in receiving by catching all six targets for 59 yards in a 26-0 loss Sunday in Seattle. The veteran tight end was one of the very few bright spots for Minnesota, which turned over the ball five times and gained 162 total yards with undrafted rookie Max Brosmer starting at quarterback.

Minnesota has now lost four straight games during which it has scored only 42 total points. The Vikings could see another change at quarterback if starter J.J. McCarthy (concussion) is deemed fit to play, but it's becoming increasingly difficult to trust anything about this offense ahead of a Week 14 game against Washington.

Colby Parkinson, TE, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson's three-game touchdown streak came to an end in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Carolina Panthers, but he's held steady as the team's top tight end over the past few weeks with Tyler Higbee (ankle) on Injured Reserve.

Parkinson still tied for second on the team with receiver Davante Adams in targets during Sunday's game, recording four receptions for 27 yards on five targets. The 26-year-old trails only the Rams' big three of Puka Nacua, Adams, and Kyren Williams in snap share (61.3%) since Week 9 and has been productive in that time, totaling 16 receptions (18 targets) for 133 yards and three touchdowns.

Colby Parkinson is a touchdown-dependent fantasy option, but he's been a quality streamer in a potent Rams passing attack. He's a worthwhile waiver-wire addition ahead of Week 14's matchup against the division-rival Arizona Cardinals.

Zach Ertz, TE, Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz had a monster game in Week 13, recording 10 catches for 106 yards on 13 targets against the Denver Broncos. The 35-year-old has been a stable producer in recent weeks, recording at least four catches and 42 receiving yards in each of his last four games.

Perhaps most importantly for Ertz's production upside, Washington could be getting quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) back from injury in the coming weeks, possibly even as soon as Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings. Across 23 career games where Ertz has shared the field with Daniels, he's recorded 11 touchdown catches.

While Ertz's fantasy value still mostly comes from his stable floor, his touchdown upside skyrockets with Daniels on the field. Ertz could establish himself as a consistent low-end starting fantasy tight end if Daniels does indeed return in early December.

Isaiah Likely, TE, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely posted his most productive performance of the season in Week 13, recording five catches for 95 yards on six targets against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, the 25-year-old was also responsible for one of the turning points in the game when he coughed up a fumble as he was crossing the goal line, turning a touchdown into a touchback.

Still, Likely's increased involvement is a positive sign for fantasy managers. Although he's failed to find the end zone so far this season, Likely recorded six touchdowns on 58 targets across 16 games in 2024 and has shown stretches of red zone chemistry with Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson throughout his career.

The presence of tight ends Mark Andrews and Charlie Kolar in Baltimore limits Likely's upside, as he's played fewer than 60% of the team's offensive snaps in six straight games heading into his Week 14 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, in deep fantasy leagues, Likely may be worth stashing off the waiver wire in case an injury to Andrews opens up a significant playing time opportunity in Baltimore.
