Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13:
DeVonta Smith, WR, Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (chest, shoulder) was listed as a non-participant in Tuesday's walkthrough practice due to chest and shoulder injuries, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Smith's status bears watching on a short week when the team takes on the Chicago Bears on Friday. He played 95% of the offensive snaps in the Week 12 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and had a big game, catching six of his 11 targets for 89 yards.
If Smith is a DNP again on Wednesday, fantasy managers should actually be worried that he might be in danger of missing Week 13 action. If Smith is limited in any way or ruled out entirely against Chicago later this week, Jahan Dotson would be in line for WR2 duties in Philly behind A.J. Brown. Smith has only found the end zone three times in 11 games in 2025, adding 55 receptions on 78 targets for 754 yards. He's on track for the third 1,000-yard season in his fifth NFL campaign.
Luther Burden III, WR, Bears
Across the first 10 games of his NFL career, Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III has recorded just 22 receptions for 295 yards and one touchdown on 28 targets. However, Burden III has been playing some of his best football in recent weeks. Over his last three outings, the 21-year-old has hauled in nine catches for 124 yards on 13 targets.
Perhaps most importantly, Burden III could be overtaking Bears veteran Olamide Zaccheaus for the WR3 role in Chicago alongside Rome Odunze and DJ Moore.
Over the last two weeks, Burden III has earned 66 offensive snaps compared to just 33 for Zaccheaus. The presence of Odunze and Moore caps Burden III's upside. Still, the rookie has flashed big-play ability and appears to be carving out a more stable playing time floor. Burden III should be a waiver-wire target in fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams heading into a Week 13 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
A.J. Brown, WR, Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown delivered a vintage performance in his team's 24-21 Week 12 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, hauling in eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. The 28-year-old has spent most of the 2025 season publicly agitated by his role in Philadelphia's underwhelming pass game. However, Brown has now seen double-digit targets in each of the last two weeks. Across 10 games for the season, he's recorded 46 catches for 567 yards and four touchdowns on 75 targets.
Brown's increased involvement in recent games could be a sign that he is getting back on the same page with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. While Brown hasn't provided the consistent production fantasy managers were hoping for before the start of the season, he remains a starting fantasy wide receiver heading into a Week 13 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Colston Loveland, TE, Bears
Chicago Bears rookie tight end Colston Loveland has emerged as a big piece of the offense over the last few weeks and had another positive performance in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, recording four catches for 49 yards and a touchdown on five targets. Loveland is operating in close to a full-time role, playing at least 60% of the snaps in six straight games and totaling 23 receptions (29 targets) for 324 yards and three touchdowns. He has the third most PPR points in that span (73.4), only behind George Kittle and Trey McBride.
The 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is a dynamic receiving option and a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses at the tight end position. His role should only continue to expand in an explosive Bears offense. Loveland will rank as a borderline TE1 for Black Friday's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
