Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 11:
Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston led the team with 10 targets on Sunday night, catching five passes for 42 yards in the 25-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although his stat line wasn't eye-popping, the volume is encouraging.
His longest catch was only 15 yards, as a heavily pressured Justin Herbert mainly relied on quick throws behind a battered offensive line all night. In Week 11, Johnston faces a favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have allowed the ninth-most passing yards and the fourth-most receiving touchdowns this season.
They have also given up 31 receptions of 20 yards or more, which could benefit Johnston. With rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden (quad) day-to-day, Johnston could see more red-zone and deep-shot targets. He remains a boom-or-bust WR3/FLEX option with upside in this matchup.
Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars second-year wide receiver Parker Washington scored two touchdowns on Sunday in the Jaguars' 36-29 loss to the Houston Texans. One of them came early in the first quarter, a seven-yard strike from quarterback Trevor Lawrence, which put the Jaguars up 10-0.
The second came in the second quarter, a 73-yard punt return that put the Jaguars up 17-0. Additionally, Washington led the Jaguars in targets with seven; the next closest was running back Travis Etienne Jr. with three. Although Washington led the team in targets, he was only able to haul in three of them for 33 yards to go with his two touchdowns. For most of the afternoon, he was shadowed by Derek Stingley Jr., who is considered to be one of the best cornerbacks in the game.
As long as Travis Hunter (knee) and Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) continue to miss time, Washington will remain in the low-end WR2 conversation heading into Week 11, when the Jaguars take on the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jauan Jennings, WR, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings caught six of his nine targets for 71 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 10. He also lost a fumble in the team's 42-26 loss to the Rams. The touchdown was Jennings' second in as many weeks and his third of the season.
With Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Brandon Aiyuk (knee) out, Jennings is the 49ers' unquestioned WR1. Jennings' production has not met preseason expectations, especially while being targeted on 25.4% of routes run. Week 10 was just Jennings' second top-24 finish among wide receivers, but as long as he continues seeing that kind of opportunity share, Jennings is still worth keeping in fantasy football lineups.
Another good week could be in store when the 49ers face the Cardinals in Week 11. Jennings was inactive when the teams met in Week 3, but Pearsall posted 117 yards on eight catches in that game.
Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams got off to an extremely slow start to Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders. Williams entered halftime with only one reception for 19 yards.
Fantasy managers thought they were getting a dud from Williams, but he turned it around in the second half. Williams finished his day with six receptions on seven targets for 119 yards and a touchdown in the blowout win.
This is now back-to-back games in which Williams has found the end zone. He'll look to keep that streak alive against the Philadelphia Eagles next week.
DK Metcalf, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Over the past two weeks combined, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf has scored just 6.6 half-PPR fantasy points. While there are reasons to be optimistic about the Steelers' offense against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, this matchup doesn't project to be a great one for Metcalf specifically.
Cincinnati has surrendered six receiving touchdowns to opposing wideouts, and only one of them went to a clear WR1. In Metcalf's Week 7 meeting with the Bengals, he managed just three receptions for 50 yards.
Because Metcalf has not exceeded five receptions in any contest this season, fantasy managers can't rely on volume when deciding whether to start him. The 27-year-old will probably need to hit pay dirt to provide value as a low-end WR2 or flex option this week.
