Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Kendrick Bourne, WR, 49ers
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was again a pivotal part of his team's success this past weekend, and could be in store for extended work once more in Week 7. The 30-year-old has stepped up admirably with a myriad of injuries around him, compiling a 15/284 line through the last two weeks on a whopping 20 targets. While teammates Ricky Pearsall (knee) and George Kittle (hamstring) are expected back in due time, that may not come to fruition for their meeting with the Lions on Monday night.
Furthermore, fellow WR Jauan Jennings is battling multiple broken ribs, leaving his efficacy in question. At present, Bourne seems like a good bet to be heavily involved again when his team next takes the field, with the uncertainty surrounding the return of his teammates.
Ladd McConkey, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey had a standout performance in the team's last-second 29-27 win against the Miami Dolphins, catching seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. He led the team in nearly every receiving category, stepping up with Quentin Johnston (hamstring) out, and made a crucial 42-yard reception with seconds left to set up Cameron Dicker's game-winning field goal. This is McConkey's second straight week with a touchdown after barely seeing any red zone targets in the first four games of the season.
McConkey is expected to remain active in Week 7, as the 5-1 Indianapolis Colts visit the Chargers at SoFi Stadium. The Colts' pass defense has been average, and with Johnston's status still uncertain, McConkey should be in line for another productive game. His rapport with Herbert is starting to resemble that of the end of the 2024 season. McConkey is a dependable WR3 with WR2 upside moving forward.
Calvin Ridley, WR, Titans
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (hamstring) exited in the second quarter of the team's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders with a hamstring issue and was held out for the rest of the game as a precaution. He finished this game hauling in his lone target for 18 yards. The loss of Ridley should mean increased roles for Elic Ayomanor, Tyler Lockett, and Van Jefferson.
Fantasy managers should check back for more updates on Ridley's status. Sadly, hamstring issues have a tendency to linger, so Ridley could be looking at a multiple-game absence. Given his potential to miss time, he is a safe cut in shallow leagues.
A.J. Brown, WR, Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown caught six of his nine targets for 80 yards during last Thursday's Week 6 loss to the New York Giants. Brown tied his season high in receptions and now has at least eight targets in five consecutive games.
While his yardage has varied from week to week, and he still has just one touchdown this year, the star receiver appears to be trending in the right direction following his early-season frustrations. He should rank as a solid WR2 option for Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings.
