Tests Indicate Najee Harris Tore Achilles
Najee Harris suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harris suffered the injury on a non-contact play while planting his feet in the backfield, and he was eventually carted off the field. The Chargers will order additional testing to confirm Harris' diagnosis, but he's likely done for the season. It's a crushing blow for the veteran running back, who had never missed a game due to injury before arriving in Los Angeles. This summer, he injured his eye during a fireworks incident, and now, he's likely done for the year with a torn Achilles. He'll work to recover and get healthy before hitting free agency for the second consecutive offseason next March. In the meantime, Omarion Hampton will take over full possession of the lead-back role while Hassan Haskins offers a change of pace.
