Week 3 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Outlooks

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill bounced back with a better Week 2 against the Patriots, and he could be in for more targets in Week 3, depending on the status of Jaylen Waddle (shoulder, questionable). Hill had only four catches for 40 yards in Week 1 against the Colts, but looked much more explosive with six catches for 109 yards in Week 2 against New England. He still only had seven targets in that much-better game, and he could have ended up with even better totals if Tua Tagovailoa hadn't missed him in the second half when he was open deep down the field.

With the Dolphins desperate for a win and potentially short-handed on playmakers, Hill could be set up for a big workload in Week 3. He's in a tough matchup against the Bills, but Buffalo let Zay Flowers go off in Week 1. Hill brings boom-or-bust potential in Week 3, and he's the WR25 in the RotoBaller rankings, setting him up as a strong flex option or WR3.

Keon Coleman, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman, the team's leading pass catcher so far this season, will enter a favorable matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. Miami, which may go without injured starting cornerback Storm Duck (ankle), hasn't had an answer for opposing passing games this year. The Dolphins are giving up 33 points per game and have allowed the NFL's highest completion percentage (78.8). That looks auspicious for Coleman, who caught all three targets for a modest 26 yards against No. 1 cornerback Sauce Gardner and the New York Jets' secondary last Sunday.

The Bills beat the Jets handily while leaning on the run, whereas they took a pass-happy approach in a Week 1 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Coleman looked like a budding star in the opener. While the second-year man remains unproven, he should be among the beneficiaries if Buffalo's Josh Allen-led aerial attack rebounds from an underwhelming Week 2 performance on Thursday.

Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills relied more on the run than the pass in a Week 2 win over the New York Jets, which didn't do wide receiver Khalil Shakir any favors. Shakir had tallied six or more targets in 14 straight games entering last Sunday, but that streak ended against the Jets. After catching one of two targets for 12 yards, he'll look to bounce back against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday.

Historically, Shakir has logged unspectacular numbers versus division-rival Miami, which has limited him to 20 catches, 260 yards, and no touchdowns in six career meetings. The 6-foot, 190-pounder caught 11 of 12 targets for 104 yards in two games against the Dolphins last year. That aligned with Shakir's season-long output during a 76-catch, 821-yard showing in 2024, and it's the type of respectable production fantasy managers should expect in Week 3.

Marvin Harrison Jr., Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray didn't exactly ease fantasy managers' concerns regarding second-year wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. when talking to the media on Wednesday. "There's only one ball. We've been playing this game for a long time. Some days he's gonna get 10, and some days he might get 3. You never know," Murray said when asked if he felt Harrison should have more targets through two weeks. Harrison and Murray supposedly improved their chemistry in the offseason, but through two games, we have yet to see it.

The 23-year-old former fourth overall pick is tied for 49th among WRs with 11 targets through two games and has caught seven of them for 98 yards and a touchdown. It might take Harrison a bit more time to reach his true potential, but fantasy managers will be hoping he'll rebound in a divisional matchup this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
