ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs led the team in receiving yards (68), but he only saw four targets and connected on two of them in their opening game. His targets were one fewer than wide receiver Jayden Reed, who led the team.
Even though Doubs has a role as a starter, quarterback Jordan Love tends to spread the ball around and not focus on a lead option. As a result, several wideouts saw two targets, but only three pass catchers had four or more (Doubs, Reed, and tight end Tucker Kraft).
This makes Doubs a fringe low-end WR3 in deeper formats, as his upside is hindered due to the crowded nature of the pass-catching room.
Last season, despite holding a starting role, Doubs tallied just 601 yards and four scores on 68 receptions. While he is given a high snap share and has the opportunity to see targets, he is difficult to trust in redraft leagues, as Love does not look his way as often as managers would hope.
He is best left for deep formats that require 3-WRs. He may find a path to producing flex value if their game against the Commanders is high-scoring. However, most managers should keep Doubs on the bench until he sees more targets consistently.
