Week 2 Wide Receiver Rankings Outlooks
Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shoulder) is not dealing with a serious shoulder injury.
Rapoport noted that at this time, Jennings appears to have avoided a significant injury. This is an excellent sign for the San Francisco offense as tight end George Kittle (hamstring) is expected to miss at least three to five weeks, and quarterback Brock Purdy (toe/shoulder) is in danger of missing Week 2.
Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their progress at practice, as the entire offense could take a hit. In the season opener, Jennings had a limited role, being targeted just five times and catching two passes.
However, with Kittle sidelined, Jennings should see his target share increase. If Purdy can suit up, Jennings would carry flex value in Week 2 facing the New Orleans Saints.
Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receivers Matthew Golden (ankle) and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) were both listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. The Packers did not actually practice as they head into a short week this Thursday night to kick off Week 2 against the Washington Commanders.
Wicks was also on the Week 1 injury report but ended up playing in the Week 1 win over the Lions, catching both of his targets for 30 yards. Golden will join the injury report for the first time in 2025, but the 22-year-old first-rounder should play on Thursday night.
In his NFL debut, he was quiet, going for two catches for 16 yards while playing just under 50 percent of the offensive snaps. If Golden is active on Thursday, he will be the more attractive WR4/flex upside play over Wicks against Washington.
Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (foot) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN. The Packers did not actually practice on Monday.
Reed's availability for the Week 1 game against the Detroit Lions was up in the air as he battled a left-foot injury, but he ultimately was active in Sunday's 27-13 win and led the team with five targets, hauling in four of them for 45 yards and his first touchdown of the year.
However, the 25-year-old played only 38 percent of the offensive snaps to open the year. Reed could continue to have his practice reps monitored as he works his way through a Jones fracture in his foot, but he should be able to play this Thursday night as long as he is able to practice on either Tuesday or Wednesday. If he's active Thursday, he'll be a low-upside WR4/flex for fantasy managers.
Elic Ayomanor, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Elic Ayomanor saw seven targets come his way on Sunday, trailing only first-round picks Travis Hunter and Tetairoa McMillan amongst rookies at the position in Week 1. Unfortunately, he was only able to convert those looks into two receptions for 13 yards against a stout Denver defense.
Ayomanor's heavy workload was likely the result of top option Calvin Ridley being shadowed by All-Pro corner Patrick Surtain II. Still, the thought has been that one of the Titans' rookie receivers would have a chance to emerge on a relatively weak depth chart.
After one week, it appears that Ayomanor will have a substantial role. While the Titans' passing game was completely ineffective on Sunday, brighter days should be ahead with quarterback Cam Ward under center, and Ayomanor is worth a stash in deep leagues.
