Mike Trout Scratched With Skin Infection
Mike Trout was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's series opener in Kansas City against the Royals with a skin infection, according to the team. Joe Adell is the designated hitter and is batting cleanup, while Chris Taylor is starting in right field and batting sixth against Royals right-hander Michael Lorenzen. It's unclear how serious this is for Trout or if it will keep him out beyond Tuesday's contest. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Trout's status for Game 2 of the series in KC on Wednesday. The 11-time All-Star and three-time MVP is no longer in his prime and is striking out more than ever in his career, although he still has some pop left in his lumber. Through 381 at-bats this year, he's hitting .231 (88-for-381) with 20 homers, 54 RBI and 58 runs scored. He hit just .214 (18-for-84) with a homer, seven RBI and 38 K's in 24 games in August.
