MacKenzie Gore Hopes to Return This Year
MacKenzie Gore (shoulder) is optimistic that he can return this year after landing on the 15-day injured list on Saturday with left-shoulder inflammation. After a strong start to the 2025 season, Gore has struggled in the second half, recording a 7.54 ERA and 1.76 WHIP in eight starts. His shoulder injury could have something to do with those lackluster results. Although it's good news his left-shoulder injury isn't serious, fantasy managers can't realistically expect anything the rest of the way, especially with the Nats out of playoff contention. Gore has thrown 147 1/3 innings in 27 outings in his fourth major-league season after tallying a career-high 166 1/3 innings over 32 starts a year ago. "We've got to get some strength back, got to get everything moving the right way," Gore said. "That's kind of what we're going to do the next 15 days, and I plan on being ready to go."
