Carson Benge Launches First Triple-A Home Run
Carson Benge hit his first Triple-A home run on Friday evening, facing Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Benge was sidelined for most of the week on the Triple-A IL but wasted little time to make an impact in his return. In just his second game back from the IL and only sixth game with Triple-A Syracuse, Benge went 1-for-4 with his first Triple-A round-tripper. The former 19th overall pick from last year's MLB Draft opened the season at High-A but has progressed through the pipeline very quickly. Through 92 games split between High-A and Double-A, Benge posted an impressive .309/.418/.507 line with a .925 OPS and 11 home runs. Given his impressive progression through the minor leagues, Benge may have an opportunity to join the Mets for their postseason run.
