Emeka Egbuka - Week 1 Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Picks (2025)

Emeka Egbuka - Fantasy Football Rankings, Rookie Rankings, WR Sleepers

Emeka Egbuka fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 of 2025. Should you start or sit Emeka Egbuka for fantasy football lineups in Week 1?

BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ team leagues

POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2/WR3

ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has seen his fantasy stock soar throughout the offseason. After being selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, many did not expect Egbuka to be put in a larger role as a rookie, playing in a crowded wide receiver room with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Jalen McMillan.

However, with Godwin (ankle) slated to miss at least the first month of action and McMillan (neck) in danger of missing significant time, the former Buckeye now sits comfortably as the No. 2 option, opposite of Evans.

Throughout his time at Ohio State, Egbuka played alongside several high-end prospects, such as Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison Jr. Despite this, Egbuka was still very productive, posting two 1,000-yard campaigns. In his senior season, he played a lead role on their National Championship team, tallying 1,011 yards with 10 touchdowns.

Egbuka will now sit in as the clear No. 2 option for Baker Mayfield, who is coming off a career year. In 2024, Mayfield threw for a career-best 4,500 yards with 41 passing scores.

Even though Egbuka's fantasy stock might drop later in the season once Godwin and McMillan return, for the foreseeable future, he carries high-end WR2 upside. Facing an Atlanta defense in what is expected to be a high-scoring affair, fantasy managers should certainly view Egbuka as a must-start WR2 in all formats in Week 1.
