MLB Home Run Player Prop Bets Today: Best Hitter HR Props (8/20/2025)

Junior Caminero - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects

Thunder Dan's best MLB player prop bets for today (8/20/2025). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Junior Caminero, Miguel Andujar, Trevor Larnach, and Jurickson Profar.

Today's MLB games bring us plenty of good spots for home runs, and I'm hoping to keep my streak going as I went one for three on Monday. I correctly identified Michael Harris II for a bomb while Salvador Perez was a late scratch and didn't even make the lineup (though several of his teammates homered instead).

Today I'm back with four more HR prop bets, three of which qualify for "long shot" status with +500 odds or better.

In this article, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Wednesday, August 202025. Odds for each pick are from FanDuel or DraftKings Sportsbook and are subject to change throughout the day. Remember to always shop around at other sportsbooks for the best price so you can get more value on your wagers. Odds can vary greatly from one sportsbook to another.

MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (8/20/2025)

Here are all the hitters I'll cover for HR props on Wednesday, August 20:

Junior Caminero OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+320 FanDuel)

It's hard not to love Junior Caminero today, and it's not because it's Wednesday or that he has some good BvP against Yankees youngster Cam Schlittler (though the more trends pointing in the right direction, the better).

Caminero is at home in the hitter-friendly confines of Steinbrenner Field, where he is slashing .315/.353/.603. He's also facing a righty, which puts him on the right side of his splits, as he has more home runs (25) and a better batting average, SLG%, and wRC+ against RHP.

The icing on the cake is that Schlittler has shown reverse splits this season, too. Against righties, his K% drops seven percent, while his FIP climbs 2.6 runs. Right-handers have a .537 SLG% against Schlittler, and four of the six home runs he has allowed have come to RHH (one of those to Caminero last month).

I love that we get Caminero over +300 odds despite his matchup and elite park factor, and he's the lowest odds of the day, too!

Jurickson Profar OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+520 FanDuel)

Is anyone hotter than the Braves' current leadoff man? Profar left the yard again last night for his fourth home run in the last three games. The switch-hitting outfielder now has 10 home runs in just 184 at-bats after missing 80 games earlier in the season due to a drug suspension.

He'll spin around to the right side of the plate today against the veteran lefty Martin Perez. While Perez has not allowed many home runs this season, he's also only pitched 23 innings and has the worst barrel% on the slate at 14.5%. He's a fly-ball-prone pitcher who lacks swing-and-miss stuff, so there's a good chance that Profar is going to make some quality contact tonight, especially with how well he is swinging the bat.

Profar has been great against lefties this season, too, slashing .298/.365/.553 with three of his 10 home runs.

I love betting on switch-hitters with power from both sides of the plate, because we give ourselves a realistic chance of a home run off a bullpen arm, as Profar will maintain his platoon advantage against a pitcher of either handedness.

Trevor Larnach OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+600 FanDuel)

I feel compelled to attack Athletics' pitcher J.T. Ginn with a left-handed bat tonight. Matt Wallner has the most pop from that side of the plate, but also has a lot of swing-and-miss in his bat, so I am going to roll with Larnach, who also has some solid power with 15 home runs off RHP this season in 313 at-bats.

Back to Ginn for a moment, he has a massive 2.11 HR/9 mark that is the worst among starters on today's slate. He's on the road here at least and not in Sacramento, but he's been so bad against LHH this season that I can't help but take a shot at Larnach, especially with odds like these.

Ginn throws mainly three pitches to lefties: his sinker, cutter, and a changeup. Larnach looks really good against both the cutter and changeup with an xSLG of .505 (cutter) and .467 (changeup). I like the way he profiles here in this matchup. He's a sneaky good hitter who doesn't often get the respect he deserves.

Miguel Andujar OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+750 FanDuel)

Andujar has been on fire since joining the Reds and is turning out to be one of the best additions that any contender has made in terms of adding an impact bat at the deadline.

I like him and the Reds a lot in this spot against the lefty Yusei Kikuchi. We have some favorable hitting conditions in Angel Stadium again today with the wind blowing out at nearly nine mph and some warm temperatures and sunny skies. We saw Cincy's deliver six runs yesterday, including a home run from Noelvi Marte (who I had written up on Monday for a homer, I was a day early!).

When we look at the platoon splits against lefties, it's Andujar and Austin Hays who really stand out with their numbers. While Hays has slightly better numbers, he also has much worse odds today, and it's been Andujar who is swinging the hotter stick of late. It's hard to believe we get a power-hitting corner-infielder, who is batting cleanup, and is in his best split, and is facing a HR-prone pitcher in a good hitting environment for odds of +750!

Good luck if you tail these bets today! I have a feeling we are going to hit a few more and keep the recent RotoBaller HR prop streak going strong!
