Jac Caglianone Could Start Rehab Assignment Next Week
Jac Caglianone is doing well, and if everything continues to go well this weekend, he will start a minor-league rehab assignment next week. Caglianone, the sixth overall pick last year out of Florida, should be back with the big-league club by the middle of August as long as he doesn't suffer a setback on his rehab assignment. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound former two-way star has had a tough time adjusting to big-league pitching in his rookie season in 2025, as Cags was hitting just .147 (22-for-150) with five home runs, 10 RBI, nine runs scored and a 34:8 K:BB in his first 41 games. There's no denying that Caglianone has elite power upside, but he's going to need to tweak some things with his approach in order to come out of his first year in the big leagues feeling good at the plate.
