Kevin McGonigle Homers, Drives in Three on Saturday
Kevin McGonigle homered in a 1-for-5 day at the plate on Saturday for Double-A Erie, collecting three RBI, scoring twice, and stealing a base as well. The Tigers' top-ranked prospect has not looked intimidated since joining Double-A in early July, but has been hitting even better as of late, going 10-for-27 (.370) with four doubles and two home runs in his last six games. The 20-year-old is slashing .370/.379/.741 for the year between High-A and Double-A, showing off an excellent hit tool with solid power, and he's been able to draw more walks than strikeouts (34:30 BB:K). The left-handed slugger has the makings of a strong fantasy producer and should be in the big leagues at some point next year.
