Christian Fischer Retires From NHL at 28
Forward Christian Fischer has decided to hang up his skates. The 28-year-old announced his retirement from the NHL in an interview with The Athletic. "It's just more so a decision of moving on into another chapter of my life," Fischer said. "I wish there was a big reasoning why, but in the end, I'm very thankful for the career I had." The Chicago native added that he has a business opportunity in the golf industry. Fischer was the No. 32 pick in the 2015 draft and spent most of his NHL career with the Arizona Coyotes. He also had stints with the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets, posting 137 points (62 goals, 75 assists) in 523 regular-season appearances.
