Mike Gesicki 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Consistency may Continue to be an Issue
Mike Gesicki will begin his second season with the team in 2025. He appeared in all 17 games for Cincinnati last season, amassing 65 catches for 665 yards and two touchdowns. While the 29-year-old was more productive as a Miami Dolphin, it was still a decent finish after a miserable season with the New England Patriots in 2023. Understandably, the focus of the front office in the offseason was securing new deals for Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Yet, a new contract for Gesicki was also a priority, considering his rapport with quarterback Joe Burrow. With a fresh three-year contract, the 2018 No. 42 overall pick will look to build on his numbers from last season. Without question, Gesicki had some potent performances in 2024, catching at least seven passes in four games. Still, his two trips to the end zone came during the Week 9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Outside of that contest, he was held without a touchdown. Gesicki's fantasy outlook can go in a few different directions, but it's safe to say it won't be as favorable if Higgins and Chase stay healthy. The presence of running back Chase Brown will also likely make it difficult for him to remain involved at a consistent level. He's currently ranked outside the top 20 in RotoBaller's fantasy football rankings for the 2025 season (standard and PPR formats) at the tight end position. However, with so much volatility at the position, Gesicki still has a chance of cracking at least the top 15, especially if he scores a few more touchdowns.
