Kerry Carpenter to Undergo MRI on Hamstring
Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) left the team's 3-0 win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday with a right hamstring injury. Carpenter will undergo an MRI on Monday, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic. For his part, Carpenter is optimistic that it's not a serious problem. "It feels similar to the last time I had a little issue with it," he said. "The staff here has done a great job of getting me back pretty quickly. We'll see how it goes, but I think we're all pretty optimistic about it." Carpenter tweaked his hamstring in late April and has played through it without requiring a trip to the 10-day injured list. Before exiting Sunday, Carpenter starred with a home run, a triple, and two RBI in a 2-for-3 night. The 27-year-old is batting .257/.285/.494 with 16 homers, 32 RBI, and 40 runs scored over 280 plate appearances.
