Jake Burger Mashes Two Homers in Loss
Jake Burger went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the New York Yankees. He added a single, and his first stolen base of 2025. The St. Louis native notched four batted balls that left the bat in excess of 100 MPH, with both of his long balls exceeding 106 (106.5, 110.4). Burger has been on fire since rejoining the big-league club a little over a week ago. He's got a hit in eight of nine appearances, with two doubles, three homers, six RBI, and three runs scored. Overall, this month, he's at an excellent .343 average (12-for-35). The Missouri State product is hitting left-handed pitching at a higher clip than he did in 2024, but his effectiveness against righties has declined nearly as much (.212).
